The Permanent Endowment Fund (PEF) provides the opportunity to make charitable gifts that will become a permanent endowment of financial support and a living memorial for CHUMC. Endowment funds enhance the ministry and outreach of the church as well as providing another vehicle for giving and encouraging better stewardship.

 The endowment fund is permanent and only the earnings will be spent. Contributions are tax deductible and can be designated or undesignated gifts. The fund is administered by the CHUMC PEF Committee.

 Gifts can be small or large and can be cash, real estate, personal property, stocks and bonds, life insurance or planned gifts. Real estate and /or personal property gifts must be approved by the PEF Committee. Planned gifts are “Charitable Gift Annuities”, “Charitable Remainder Trusts”, “Charitable Lead Trusts” as well as wills and bequests.

 Giving to the Endowment Fund signifies that we believe in the future of CHUMC that we have a “trust in God” and in being good stewards as a church family as well as continuing the heritage we enjoy as members of CHUMC.

 Regular giving is important and those gifts are used for the annual budget. Endowment giving, however, is an everlasting legacy gift to a fund that is permanent with only the earnings being spent.
