On Wednesday, January 19th, we will begin a new Bible Study using the Book, “Fear of the Other; No Fear in Love” by UMC Bishop Will Willimon.  This study will be offered at noon and 7:00 pm, for five Wednesdays beginning January 19th.

In this no-nonsense book, we will be invited to consider the gospel command to love (and not merely tolerate) those considered to be “Other” or outside mainstream Christian culture, those who are not only strangers but are people who live completely different lives. Rooted in the faith of Israel and the Christian story and vision, Bishop Willimon brings a Wesleyan perspective to bear on what may be the hardest thing for people of faith to do: keeping and loving the "Other" as they are - without any need for them to become like us because to genuinely love those considered to be “Other,” or outside the mainstream Christian culture, maybe the hardest thing for people of faith to do.

The book for the class can be purchased through the links provided for Cokesbury or Amazon
