About CHUMC Children’s Ministries

All are Welcome!   

Our CHUMC Children’s Ministry has something for all children from infant through 5th grade and their families. Our mission is to teach children about the love of Christ in a fun, interactive way that allows them to grow in faith and build relationships.  

All classes, activities, and events follow Safe Gatherings protocols, ensuring your children are cared for by trained staff and volunteers.

We ask parents to fill out and turn in registration forms for all children, available via the link below.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS)

Registration for SCUBA VBS 2024 is NOW OPEN! Cost is $20 per child. Registration includes 1 shirt. Additional shirts are available for $10. Contact Mr. Jason for more information.

BIBLE STORIES (SUNDAY SCHOOL)

Fun bible related classes offered for children of all ages can be found every Sunday morning starting at 9:45 AM.

EARLY CHRISTIAN AWARENESS (E.C.A.)

During 11:00 am worship, after Time for Children

Ages 6 months to 4 years

Education bld. downstairs rm. 2 (Nursery) 

Using all of their senses, little children are introduced to the wonder of God's love.

 

GODLY PLAY: A hands on style Bible study for all ages that follows the Godly Play curriculum. Certain seasons may see all children going to Godly Play together for a special series. Kinder through 2nd grade meet in our Godly Play room upstairs in the Education Building.

CAN DO BIBLE: Starting in December our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will meet in the Oasis room found upstairs in the Education Building. Can Do Bible is a bible based curriculum that welcomes wondering and conversation as we learn about God, the Bible, and each other.

5TH SUNDAY BRUNCH

Every 5th Sunday, we will have a 5th Sunday Brunch instead of traditional Sunday School. We will meet in the gym at 10AM for food, games, fellowship, and fun. Everyone is welcome to join.

CHILDREN'S CHOIR

Children's Choir will meet with Ms. Alyssa at the beginning of Second Story following Children's Time during the 11am service.

SECOND STORY

During 11:00 am worship, after Children's Time and the offering. Children Ages 4 years through 2nd grade

are invited to gather in the Wesley Room (adjacent to the worship center) for a child geared bible story and crafts.

CLUB CAN-DO

“Anything CLUB can do WE can do!”

Club Can-Do is for all children in 3rd - 5th grade. We meet the second Sunday each month. This "Kids serving others" club performs various services or community projects on the church campus or in the community. Activities vary from month to month.

Upcoming activities:

   -March 3: Cleanup our Garden and plant flowers for Easter

   -April 14: Fiesta Party and "Escape Room"

ACOLYTES

3rd graders and older are able to serve as acolytes. It's not just lighting the candles, it's a big responsibility!

 

NURSERY

Our Nursery is open and available during all Sunday worship services for parents of little ones.  During the 11:00 am service, Second Story is also available.  However, We do welcome all children to be in worship with their families!  Activity packets (coloring pages, etc.) are available for children to use during worship.  Pick them up in the Narthex, or ask an usher.

CHUMPETS PUPPET MINISTRY

A children & youth puppet ministry that uses puppets to teach about God and performs in worship service at various times during the year.

CHUMC DRAMA CLUB

A ministry that brings the stories of the Bible to life! ALL AGES and abilities welcome!
